Strong wind gusts destroy 28 houses in Cotabato Province

DAVAO CITY — Some 28 houses were totally damaged 28 while 57 were partially destroyed affecting 85 families when strong wind hit four barangays in Kabacan town, Cotabato province afternoon of March 28.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported that 27 totally damaged, 48 partially damaged  in Barangay Kayaga affecting 75 families while in Barangay Bannawag one house was totally damaged and another partially damage affecting two families.

While two were partially damaged in Barangay Lower Paatan affecting two families and 6 partially damaged in Barangay Magatos.

Most of the houses affected were made of light materials

The report from MDRRMO stated that strong winds and rain caused the devastation.

The municipal government through Mayor Evangeline Pascua-Guzman immediately ordered the municipal services office to check the needs of the families affected and validate the list so relief goods can be distributed.

Guzman also thanks the disaster office for the prompt response.
