DAVAO CITY (February 3) — A car mechanic offered his stolen motorbike to the police to evade arrest last Friday  in Lomboy, Talavera, Nueva Ecija at around 8:30 in the morning.

In a report by Philippine News Agency, it stated that  June Francisco, 55,  a resident of Barangay San Pascual, in Talavera Nueva Ecija, stole a motorbike from Pampanga in 2015 and sold it  to  his townmate Rodrigo Lagasca.

But last Thursday, January 31,  police personnel  from anti-criminality division flagged down Lagasca in a checkpoint. POlice officers asked for his bike’s document, a thing he failed to present.

During the interview, Lagasca revealed, he bought the motorbike from Francisco.

When the  police operatives verified the record through their files, they discovered that the motorbike was stolen on Feb. 15, 2015 from its registered owner in Barangay Barraca, Villasis, Pangasinan.

On February 1, Talavera police made a follow up operation and went to went to Francisco’s house.

When the police officers asked Francisco about the documents,  he told police operatives he does not have any and then made the indecent offer   “kung gusto nyo sir sa inyo na lang yang motor na yan (if you want sir, that motorcycle is all yours).”

Francisco later admitted the motorbike is from Pampanga.

Police then brought Francisco to the station and locked him.

Lagasca and Francisco are facing charges of violation of Republic Act No. 10883 or New Anti-Carnapping Law.

Francisco is also charged with corruption of public official, police said. –ezc/NewsLine.ph
