DAVAO CITY — Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Wednesday and Saturday, April 16 and 19, 2025, affecting customers in Buhangin, Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate preventive maintenance works at DRA Substation.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19.

Customers from Buhangin Substation to crossing Diversion Road, Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall, Buhangin Memorial, and Milan opposite Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall are specifically affected, including Buhangin Police Station, St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish, Sand Village, Villa Park Subdivision, Holy Trinity Village, and Holy Child College of Davao.

Also affected are those from Buhangin Substation going to Juanas Kubo North, including Camp Catitipan and F. Bangoy International Airport, and those from Buhangin Substation to the Cabantian area and portions of the Indangan area. Lastly, those from Buhangin Substation to Mamay Road, Diversion Road traffic light to Airport Road (Airport View), will also experience these service disruptions.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. It will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
