Switching power interruptions on January 18 and 19 in different parts of Davao City

January 16, 2025 by Branded content

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday and Sunday, January 18 and 19, 2025, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for 1 hour and 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 19. These are necessary to facilitate line upgrading works and steel pole erection in Matina area.

Specifically affected are those from Bangkal areas from corner Taal Road to Matina Crossing, including Matina Balusong and its nearby areas. Also affected are those from Matina Pangi Road along NCCC Centerpoint to South Grove and Alexian Matina in front of Shell Matina and the Shrine Hills area near ABS-CBN.

In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18 to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 19. Customers affected are those from Matina Substation along Matina Pangi Road to McArthur Highway and to Matina Balusong – Union Avenue Crossing.

The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate line upgrading works along the Panorama-Tigatto Road on Sunday, January 19. Loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., while the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Customers affected by these switching power interruptions are those from the corner of Tigatto Road entrance to Juliville Subdivision, including Victors Valley, from Lapanday Mandug to Callawa, including DDF Mandug, Fatima Mandug, and Palos Verdes to portions of Acacia.

In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., affecting customers from 796 Mandug Road after DMMA along Panorama going to Ciudades Business Park, including Victors Estate, Tigatto proper, Sitio Uyanguren, portions of Waan area, Alta Monte Estate, Narra Park, Deca Homes Esperanza, Las Palmas Verdes and nearby areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.

Please contact our 24/7 Customer Contact Service at (082) 229 3572, (084) 655 3572 (Panabo), or 0919 056 3572 for any power interruption that will fall outside the given schedule.
