Switching power interruptions on July 16 and 17 in the southern part of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. will conduct two sets of switching power interruptions on July 16 and 17, Sunday and Monday, affecting customers in the southern part of Davao City. These service disruptions are necessary to conduct 69 kV pole erection at Toril, Sirawan, and Binugao, and 69 kV pole relocation at crossing Ulas for the DPWH viaduct project.

To avoid longer duration of power interruptions, load from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby lines for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 am., while the normalization or return of load back to its normal set-up will also be for 30 minutes anytime between 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 16.

Specifically affected are customers along Saavedra Street, from Carabao Monument Waypark to My Gas Station, including Gaisano Grand Toril and nearby areas.

Additionally, an eight-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on the same day, Sunday, July 16 to isolate the work site for the activity. Specifically affected are customers from Toril Carabao Monument Waypark to Inawayan Bridge, including Marapangi, Catigan, Sirawan, Lizada, Binugao, and nearby areas.

The second set of switching power interruptions will be conducted for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 16 to facilitate the transfer of loads to nearby lines, while the normalization or return of load back to its normal set-up will also be for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17.

Specifically affected are customers in a portion of Talomo, Solariega Subdivision, St. Benedictine Priory, San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, and neighboring areas, Castro Village, Versary Village, Gulf View Subdivision, Catotal Subdivision, and neighboring areas.

Also affected are customers in Ideal Subdivision, Bago Aplaya Landless Association, Divino Compound Bago Aplaya, Bliss Project, Villa Mercedita Bago Aplaya, Balai Bago Aplaya, D’Garden Bago Aplaya, Sto. Rosario Village, Dusnai Subd, Greenland Subdivision, Hinundayan Homes Dumoy Toril, Sison Subdivision, Dacoville Subdivision, Don Lorenzo Homes, DLF Village, Toril Country Homes, Jose Bastida Elementary School, Magsaysay Elementary School, Juan dela Cruz Elementary School, Davao Central College, Dona Carmen Denia City High School, Dr. P Ocampo College, Davao Doctors Hospital Dumoy, Mergrande Resort, Paraiso Beach, Dumoy Beach Resort, Mervillas, Waterworld Resort, and neighboring areas.

Customers from Dumoy Substation, Bago Aplaya URC to near Phoenix Gas Station Dumoy to Harvey’s Kambingan, and neighboring areas, as well as from URC to Lubogan Cemetery Toril, including Gallera de Oro Subdivision, Kaliraya Homes, Spring Valley Subdivision Bago Gallera, JCEP Village Bago Gallera, Purok 2 Bago Gallera, Susan Homes Baliok, Bagahai Brgy Baliok and neighboring areas will also be affected by these service disruptions.

Also affected are customers in Bago Bridge to UFC Dumoy, Pepsi Cola, Malta Medical Center, and neighboring areas, Felcris Toril to Carabao Monument Way Park, Eden-Bayabas Toril, and neighboring areas, and those in Toril Proper, Descuatan, Saavedra St., Gaisano Mall Toril, and nearby areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
