Ozamiz police pursuing three leads behind the death of Parojinog’s lawyerPosted on
OZAMIZ CITY (May 26) — Police authorities here are following three leads in investigating the death of retired prosecutor Geronimo Marave, Jr., who was gunned down on Tuesday May 22, 2018.
Police chief inspector Jovie Espenido, chief of Ozamiz City PNP, said Marave’s death could be work -related, love triangle and his legal involvement as the legal counsel of the Parojinog family.
“We are looking into possible love triangle; as former fiscal –the cases he handled and; being the legal counsel of the Parojinog’s,” Expenido stressed.
Espenido claimed Marave lived in a house with a 23-year old lady, who has been engaged, while his wife works overseas.
Marave served as the legal counsel of the Parojinog’s after his retirement several years back.
Among Marave’s clients include:
- Melodina Malingin y Parojinog alyas Apyat, sister of slain Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr.
Marave just attended a court hearing involving Malingin when he killed.
Malingin and her husband were arrested on December 7, 2017, in a raid, authorities found 10 kilos of shabu inside their home.
- Botsoy Moreno, the former driver/body guard ni Ozamiz City vice-mayor Nova Princess Parojinog.
- Juden Duhaylungsod, a relative of the Parojinog’s who is facing drugs cases.
- Manuel Francisco, was arrested last April in Ilocos Region for illegal possession of Firearms, ammunition and explosives.
Francisco was among the trusted men of Parojinog in Kuratong Baleleng,-Ozamiz Group and Dragons Group.
“We are looking into all these possibilities,” Espenido emphasized.
He also dismissed claims that authorities are behind Marave’s death.-Neptalie Batolenio/Newsline.ph
