DAVAO CITY — The Bureau of Custom on Friday filed three separate criminal charges before the court againstdishonest consignees for violating the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) before the court.
The first was filed against Titan marketing and Development Corp, the company which imported the frozen meat products deemed unfit for human consumption. They are charged for violating the Safety Food Act of 2013.
The second case was against Fivebeast Trading, they declared that the shipment was plastic fittings but was found to actually contain galvanized steel flexible conduit.
Last case involves FGM-RS-Co. , the company is charged for declaring that their shipment was Hot Rolled Steel Coil but was found to contain galvanized steel coil valued at a higher price.
The cases were filed before the Department of Justice – National Prosecution Office.
The Bureau of Customs in a statement said they are up to prevent any unlawful importation of goods into the country as well as to hold liable erring individuals under the law.-Newsline
