DAVAO CITY — Lieutenant General Camilo Cascolan is the new Philippine National Police Chief, he will succeed PNP Chief Archie Francisco Gamboa who will retire tomorrow.
Gamboa will reach the mandatory retirement age of 56 on Wednesday, September 2.
In a statement, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte signed Cascolan’s appointment on Tuesday, September 1.
Cascolan served as chief of the Davao Region Police Office Finance Service and was later assigned as provincial commander of the then Compostela Valley Police Provincial, now Davao de Oro from July 2012 to April 2014.
He belongs to PMA Class of 1986. Newsline.ph
