ILIGAN CITY — A nurse working at the Department of Health was arrested Sunday night after authorities allegedly found illegal drugs inside his room in Manticao town, Misamis Occidental.
Regional Intelligence Unit 10, identified the suspect as Charles Trumata , 29, a nurse employed at the Department of Health stationed at Manticao Health Center.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Renato Arroyo of Municipal Trial Circuit Court in Manticao, police personnel from the Regional Intelligence Unit 10 (RIU-10) swopped the house of Trumata past 9 o’clock in the evening on Sunday, October 25, found one medium-sized sachet and four small sachets of suspected illegal drugs contained in a pouch inside his room.
Authorities claimed they found the suspected illegal drugs hidden inside a sunglasses pouch kept inside Trumata’s room.
But Trumata denied possession as alleged, he claimed he was outside his house watering his plants when the plainclothes members of the RIU arrive while his aunt was at the balcony.
“They arrived are told us they will serve a warrant, they told me not to move and stay outside, one policeman entered the house he told us that he will check if there were other persons inside, my room was open,” he told Newsline.ph in an interview.
“I am scheduled to fetch a locally stranded individual tomorrow October 26, (today), I cannot work anymore,” he added.
Trumata will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.-Divina M. Suson /Newsline.ph
