KIDAPAWAN CITY —An unidentified gunman shot dead a Sri Lankan businessman along a busy street in Cotabato City on Thursday at around 1:35 in the afternoon particularly in barangay Mother Poblacion Cotabato City.
Capt. Kenneth Rosales, Cotabato City police station 1 commander, identified the victim Mohamed Rifard Mohamed Siddeek, 46, businessman and a resident of Barangay Semba SPDA, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
Siddeek is believed to have operated an money lending business locally know as 5-6.
Rosales said Siddeek just got off from his white minivan on Don Rufino Alonzo Avenue in Barangay Poblacion Mother when a man approached him and opened fire.
The gunman quickly fled on board a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.
Police found empty shells for cal.45 pistol at the scene.
The Cotabato City Police are still conducting a manhunt operation against the still unidentified suspects.-Marvin Revilla
