Town residents advised not to travel to Digos City, 10 hospital staff tested positive of Coronavirus

DAVAO CITY — The municipal government of Magsaysay town in Davao del Sur has advised its residents not to travel to and from Digos City as ten more hospital workers from Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital were tested positive of the dreaded Coronavirus-19 (Covid-19).

Magsaysay information officer Anthony Allada said Mayor Arthur Davin issued an advisory to wit:

  • For the time being, all residents are discouraged to travel to and from Digos City;
  • If they will insist, they shall undergo a 14-day quarantine at the Magsaysay Border Quarantine Center upon arrival at the Barayong Checkpoint.

It added, “This advisory may be lifted any time soon upon the recommendation of the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force especially if the contamination is already being traced”.

As of May 28 Covid-19 update of Davao region, Davao del Sur registered three positive cases but two of which have recovered.

The recent announcement of ten cases made by Davin has not been revealed by the DOH in its advisory.-Editha Z. Caduaya
