Traffic enforcer fatally shot in Basilan province

BASILAN – A traffic enforcer was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in Sitio Tinambakan, Brgy Maganda, Lamitan City, Basilan.

The victim has been identified as Abbas Sarabi Sumapil, 57 years old, and a resident of the area. According to Lt. Col. Arlan Delumpines, the head of the Lamitan City PNP, their investigation showed that Sumapil was pursued by two individuals on a motorcycle while he was riding his own motorcycle on the highway in Sitio Tinambakan, en route to his residence. He was then shot with a .45 caliber pistol.

The police are currently investigating the motive behind the fatal shooting of traffic enforcer Sumapil. Further information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
