Two schools to serve as election precincts burned in Maguindanao del Norte

DAVAO CITY —Unknown suspects set fire to the Ruminimbang Elementary School in Ruminimbang, Barira, Maguindanao Del Norte, at 2:05 a.m. on October 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Dalican Pilot Elementary School in the town Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao was also set on fire by still unknown suspects..

According to the report, among the building gutted by fire were three classrooms that will be used as Voting Precincts for BSKE on Monday.

According to the report of Police Captain Francisco C. Tugas of the Barira PNP, four (4) classrooms were burned and three of them were destroyed while one still had a part that was not burned.

No one was hurt in the incident, Tugas said.

According to Comelec Chair George Garcia, the #BSKE2023 election will continue in the said area despite what happened.
The police and members of the 1401st RMFV RMFB14 quickly responded to the fire but were unable to help.
The fire case is still under investigation.
