Wedding food downs 154 in Bukidnon province

DAVAO CITY — Some 154 individuals were rushed to the different hospitals and clinics in Bukidnon province after eating the food served during a wedding in Sitio Calapat, Barangay Tagbak in the municipality of Talakag in Bukidnon yesterday, around 3:00 in the afternoon November 18, 2023.

Those who attended the ceremony and ate the food started to vomit minutes after partaking the food. Most of them are from the nearby villages of Sitio Kibuda, Kibangay Town of Lantapan.

According to the report of the municipal health centers, the guests could have eaten spoiled food as many of the food were cooked the night befoer the wedding day,

Various government agencies immediately helped to bring the affected residents to hospitals.

In the latest report, this is the hospital where the victims were taken to the following hospitals: 30 individuals are admitted at Provincial Hospital in Talakag; 8-Bethel Hospital Malaybalay; 32- Polymedic Malaybalay City; 8 -St. Jude; 10 Midway Aglayan; 28- Polymedic Valencia; 27–Provincial Hospital Malaybalay; 2-Maramag Hospital- 2 and 9 in Kibangay Health Center, all in the province of Bukidnon.

Health authorities are still verifying the cause of the massive food poisoning.
