ZAMBOANGA CITY – Partnering with the City Health Office and receiving support from Australian Aid, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in Zamboanga City launched its Health Caravan on Saturday, November 18, benefitting over 800 residents of Barangay La Paz.

Conducted at the barangay covered court, the Health Caravan offered a comprehensive array of services, including health consultations with medication, blood typing, assessment of vital signs, health and hygiene promotion (emphasizing handwashing), complimentary haircuts and massages, flu vaccinations, free eye consultations with accompanying reading glasses, blood sugar testing, child-friendly spaces, the MAAB membership program, lectures on BLS/first aid demonstrations, and disaster preparedness. Residents were also provided with MX3 vitamins and supplements, MX3 coffee, and Yakult probiotic drinks.

The recipients of these services were from remote communities, including Pole Diutay, Pole Grande, Camp Susana, La Paz Km 4, 5, 6, and 7, facing challenges in accessing essential services.

The initiative, led by PRC Chapter Administrator Joseline C. Fernandez, received vital support and cooperation from La Paz Barangay Chair Ancelita M. Dalingay and SK Chair Arjon Mallari.

Numerous organizations actively participated in the event, including Tzu Chi Zamboanga, Morishita Seggs, Tempra, Rite Med, Yakult Inc., City Health Office (CHO), Ceciles Pharmacy, Unilab, Trez Alas, TESDA, MX3, Crystal Clear Vision, A. Menarini Phil., and Bio Medis, among others.
