ZAMBOANGA CITY – Mayor John Dalipe has taken the initiative to form the Local Inter-Agency Committee (LIAC) for the New Zamboanga International Airport Development Project (NZIADP). The establishment of this committee is a critical step as the city government prepares to craft the Relocation and Resettlement Action Plan (RRAP) for families eligible for relocation due to the project.

Mayor Dalipe serves as the overall chairperson of the LIAC, with representatives from various city departments, national agencies, and relevant stakeholders as committee members. The City Housing and Land Management Division, operating under the Office of the City Mayor, acts as the secretariat for the committee.

The primary purpose of the LIAC is to provide overall direction, formulate policies, and oversee their implementation in the relocation and resettlement process for the affected families.

In its first meeting on Tuesday, October 17, held in the City Hall conference room, the committee worked on finalizing an Executive Order formalizing its creation. They also discussed the preparations for the Relocation and Resettlement Action Plan workshop, scheduled for October 19-20 under the guidance of the National Housing Authority (NHA).

The meeting was jointly chaired by City Planning and Development Coordinator Luz Agbayani and Executive Assistant on Housing Engr. Al Urao, along with City Administrator Atty. Wendel Sotto.

The New Zamboanga International Airport Development Project (NZIADP) is one of the flagship initiatives of Mayor Dalipe’s administration and enjoys substantial support from District II Congressman and Majority Leader Cong. Mannix Dalipe.
