DAVAO CITY — Twelve families were rendered homeless when a fire of still unknown origin demolished to the ground four houses  along the coastal area of Mati City at around 11:00 in the morning of December 14.

Residents of Purok Kaislaman, Magsaysay-4,  Barangay  Central, took turns pouring water from the buckets to prevent the fire from spreading before the fire trucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection arrived.

But the fire immediately spread as most of the houses were built with light materials.

It took firefighters one and a half hour to declare fire out.

City Mayor Michelle Rabat immediately send personnel from the city social services  office to provide food stuff anf relief goods while the fire personnel are still investigating the cause of the fire.

The displaced families are now temporarily housed at the Kaislaman covered court in Mati City.
