3-Year-Old Child, Mother, and Grandmother Fatally Attacked in Basilan

LAMITAN – Lamitan City Police are currently investigating an incident that resulted in the death of a 3-year-old child, Sanaya Sabdalun Anjal, along with her mother, Linda Sabdalun Anjal (23 years old), and grandmother, Linda Anjal (51 years old). The incident took place in Barangay Balagtasan, Lamitan City, Basilan Province.

According to the Lamitan City PNP report, the incident occurred around 8:20 PM on the evening of July 13. An individual named Bonie Erang forcefully entered the victims’ residence and attacked them using a bladed weapon. Following the assault, the suspect quickly fled the scene, while the victims were immediately rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the 3-year-old child, Sanaya Anjal, succumbed to her injuries, including a severe head wound.

The police apprehended the suspect, who had sought refuge near a creek in Barangay Balagtasan at approximately 9:30 PM, with the assistance of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) members.

The Lamitan City Police are conducting an investigation to gather evidence and determine the motive behind this tragic incident.
