DAVAO CITY, Philippines –— Thirty-four officers from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) who were relieved on May 23 by Brigadier General Aligre Martinez are expressing contentment with their new assignments in various provinces in Davao Region.

The officers were relieved by then Regional Director Martinez, as they investigated the killings involving suspected drug peddlers.

Initially, the officers were ordered to report to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (RPHAS). However, Regional Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III decided to optimize their skills by assigning them to various provincial commands instead of having them remain idle at the RPHAS.

In a memorandum dated August 28, 2024, signed by Police Colonel Richard Bad-ang, the officers were allowed to choose new assignments in different districts and specialized units. These new roles are viewed as chances for professional development and career advancement.

“We understand that these reassignments are part of a broader strategy to enhance our services and address ongoing issues,” one officer commented. “While the transition was initially challenging, we are now embracing our new roles with enthusiasm and are motivated to make a positive impact.”

Martinez was relieved after June 10, 2024, operations at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
