38th Kadayawan Festival Kicks Off in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – The much-anticipated 38th Kadayawan Festival officially commenced at the Bantawan Amphitheater, Kadayawan Village, Magsaysay Park August 10, afternoon.

The grand opening was presided over by Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte himself, setting the tone for the festival’s vibrant celebrations.

Joining the festivities were 11 deputy mayors representing various tribes and candidates for the Hiyas Kadayawan 2023, creating a harmonious display of unity.

The venue was alive with excitement, showcasing colorful dance and singing presentations from different tribal groups.

Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte expressed his warm welcome to everyone attending the opening of the 38th Kadayawan Festival on behalf of the City Government of Davao.

The local government has prepared a multitude of engaging activities for the celebration, promising the people a joyful and memorable experience. The Kadayawan Festival is a celebration that brings together the city’s rich natural resources and diverse cultures from different tribes.

Known as the “King of All Festivals” in the Philippines, the Kadayawan Festival is a testament to the city’s deep-rooted connection with nature and its vibrant cultural heritage.
