400 day care workers join DavOr’s child development congress

DAVAO CITY — December 9, 2022, was the day when 438 day care workers from the ten towns and one city of Davao Oriental were gathered together in a congress and were given honors recognizing their role in the holistic learning and development of children in the province.

The dedicated day care workers manage the 441 Child Development Centers of the province, a reason why the provincial government cited them and handed P5,000 each as performance incentives amounting which all totalled to P2.7-million which was based on the approved Provincial Ordinance No. 15 which prescribed the amount for the cash incentives while another P5,000 cash was given as loyalty awards were given to 45 day care workers who have served during the last 15 years while some received addition P1,500.00 for serving beyond 15 years.

On the same occasion, seven retirees were given P15,000 each for their invaluable service while the focal persons of from the local government units who served as the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) were given additional P3,000.00 each.

Maria Gracia Tiago who delivered the message on behalf of Govenor Corazon Malanyaon thanks the workers for their dedication in nurturing the day care learners.

Maria Gracia Tiago, the acting Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the concurrent Provincial Administrator, who spoke on behalf of Governor Corazon Malanyaon encouraged the CDWs to continue honing the children of Davao Oriental by sharing their knowledge to the next generation.

Citing the creativity and the dynamism of the day care workers, Tiago emphasized “You work is not easy but you continue the task without if’s and but’s, you hone the future leaders of the province without a doubt, a reason why you are valued and recognized, continue your journey with our children as the provincial government walks with you in all your endeavors.”

During the Provincial Congress, the CDWs and LGU Representatives presented their Reports of Accomplishments for the year as well as activities in furthering the welfare and development of children including capacitating the involvement of the parents.

Aside from cash incentives, the CDWs also received mugs, shirts, and other gifts who all enjoyed and had fun with the entertainment and talent performances during the event.-Newsline with repor from Karen Lou deloso
