465 former NPA rebels in Caraga receive P39-M assistance from ECLIP in 2022

DAVAO CITY – Some 465 former New People’s Army (NPA) rebels received P39,079,957 financial assistance through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) in 2022.

According to the 2022 Annual Report by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Caraga Region (DILG-13), the agency released P12.1 million livelihood funding for 242 former rebels at P50,000 each; 460 received P21,000 each in reintegration assistance, or a total of P9,660,000; and P15,000 each to 461 surrenderers amounting P6,915,000 as immediate aid.

The report indicated that “of the 465 former rebels who received benefits in 2022, eight were from Butuan City; 118 from Agusan del Norte; 169 from Agusan del Sur; 25 from Surigao del Norte, and 145 from Surigao del Sur.”  

More than P10.4 million payments were disbursed to 135 former NPA combatants as firearms reminerations

The report said “the amount of the remuneration depended on the appraised value of surrendered firearms.”

The E-CLIP aims to help members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF), and Militia ng Bayan (MB) to restore allegiance to the Philippine Government.
