DAVAO CITY (September 4) —  Senator Antonio Trillanes is now under the custody of Senate  President Tito Sotto.

This, after President Rodrigo Duterte revoked the amnesty  granted to Trillanes for failure to comply with its minimum requirements.

“ I was placed in the custody of the Senate President,” Trillanes told reporters on Tuesday.

Trillanes earlier said he will not resist arrest,  but ended up inside the room of Sotto. “This is a warrantless arrest,” he stressed.

Trillanes believes  Solicitor general Jose Calida prodded President Rodrigo Duterte to issue the order.

Trillanes was at the Senate Building  to conduct a public hearing about the alleged anomalous government transactions  involving Calida’s security firm, when he was informed  of his impending arrest.

But he vowed to exhaust all legal remedies saying his amnesty was absolute and cannot be revoked. “Mr. Duterte, hindi ako nakakatakot sayo,” he said.

Trillanes claimed  his lawyers from the National Union of  Peoples Lawyers (NUPL) are exhausting all legal remedies “Kung dadating sa punto na kailangang pumunta, mag-walk in pa ako mismo. I will not resist arrest, I will not escape. Haharapin ko ito…. Lalo akong gaganahan [tumira]. ‘Di ako matatakot, ‘di ako aalis,” Trillanes said.-ezc/NewsLine
