DAVAO CITY (September 23) — The recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Station showed, nearly 8 out of 10 Filpinos are satisfied with President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs.
The SWS second quarter survey which was released Sunday, revealed at least 78 percent of the 1,200 respondents said they were satisfied with the administration’s war against illegal drugs.
While 13 percent were not, this resulted to a “very good” net satisfaction rating of +65.
This is one point higher compared to March 2018’s rating of +64.
The results of the SWS survey also revealed that net satisfaction performance of Duterte was higher among those satisfied with the war on drugs, at a “very good” +59 as compared to the “moderate” +19 among those undecided and the “poor” -18 among those dissatisfied.
The SWS said the increase in the nationwide net satisfaction with the war on drugs was brought about by the decrease in support in Visayas, offset by slight increase in support in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, and Mindanao.
Net satisfaction was lowest in Visayas, which dropped to +57, or by 12 points from the very good +69 in March 2018.
It, however, was highest in Mindanao after it increased by 3 points from the excellent +81 in March 2018 to +84 in June.
Net satisfaction also increased by 2 points and 5 points in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon, respectively.
To this, Malacañang said “This is a testament that the drug war continues to enjoy the broad support of our people, notwithstanding the efforts of the detractors and critics of the Administration to politicize the issue or discredit the campaign’s success.”
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in a statement said “Filipinos aspire for a crime-free society which can be realized by stopping the spread of criminality and fighting the scourge of drugs,” –Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine.ph
