Illegal firearms, ammo found in barangay captain’s house

DAVAO CITY (March 4) –-Police operatives from the Regional Mobile battalion raided the house of a barangay captain in Kapalong, Davao del Norte, Friday night, March 1, they discovered illegal firearms and ammunition.

Police Maj. Jason Baria, spokesperson of PRO-11, said a composite team from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, the Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-11, in coordination with Kapalong Municipal Police Station implemented a search warrant issued by Susanna T. Baua, presiding judge of Branch 31 of the Regional Trial Court of Tagum City, Davao del Norte, against Barangay Captain Edgar Allan Quilla of Mabantao, Kapalong Davao Del Norte.

The raiding team found one.45-caliber colt MK IV; .45-caliber Norinco 1911; six .45-caliber magazines; 47 .45-caliber ammunition; 45 ammunition for 9-mm; three M16 ammunition; three .38-caliber ammunition; four .22-caliber ammunition and one .380-caliber ammunition, in Quilla’s residence. He was immediately arrested.

The police however failed to state, who filed a complaint against Quilla.

Arrested along with Quilla was his Barangay Police Rolando Sombilom Pamat, who was caught in possession of one .38-caliber revolver loaded with seven live ammunition.

Appropriate cases will be filed against the Quilla and Siombilom, Baria added. They are temporarily detained at Kapalong Municipal Police Station.-ASC/NewsLine.ph
