DAVAO CITY (April 20) — Beach resort owners run the risk of tourism permit revocation should they be found operating without emergency crew, paramedics and first aide kits.
Tourism Secretary Berna Puyat on Thursday said “Beach resort owners should be equipped with paramedics and first aide kit and those is Siargao should have medical staff, especially now that people are going to the resorts to spend Holy Week and summer.”
She said her agency is closely monitoring the influx of tourists in Siargao Island and Boracay.
“They should have the things we required them to have, they should ensure that they are always ready for any emergency, if we find them violating the order, I will not hesitate to revoke their tourism accreditation and recommend their closure,” Puyat emphasized.-Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine.ph
