Ex-Navy man, 4 others nabbed in Zambo anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY — A former Philippine Navy enlisted man and four others were arrested while some PHP54,900 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Ramil Guiroy, a former Navy enlisted man; Leonard Odon, 38; Robert Eudela, 32; Arnel Posadas, 45; and Karen Espinosa, 40.

The Police Regional Office (PRO-9) reported that Guiroy was arrested Tuesday at a motel in Barangay Canelar, this city.

PRO-9 said Guiroy, who has gone on Absence without Official Leave (AWOL), was caught in possession of some PHP21,400 worth of suspected shabu and PHP1,000 marked money.

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) reported that Odon and Eudela were caught in possession of some PHP30,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Guiwan.

The ZCPO said Posadas and Espinosa were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at Sitio Waray, Barangay Tetuan, this city. Seized from them were some PHP3,500 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money.

The suspects were all detained for the filing of appropriate charges against them. PNA
