MANILA â€“ A lone bettor from San Fernando, La Union is the first jackpot winner of the Lotto games since the start of community quarantine measures in mid-March that affected the games’ operations, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said Friday.

In an advisory, PCSO general manager Royina Garma said the winner bagged the PHP49-million jackpot prize in Thursday night’s Lotto 6/42 draw.

The lucky bettor guessed the winning combination 03-11-06-19-33-10 with a jackpot prize of exactly PHP 49,707,326.

To claim his/her check, the bettor must go to PCSO’s main office in Mandaluyong City and present the winning ticket and two ID cards.

Meanwhile, 32 bettors won second prize and will each receive PHP24,0000 for correctly guessing five numbers out of the six-digit winning combination.

The 6/42 Regular Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Last August 19, the PCSO announced that the Lotto operations are now allowed to resume in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine,

The lotto games have been suspended for three months due to the implementation of the community quarantine to contain the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The agency also reiterated that the lotto ticket prices have been rolled back to PHP20.

Despite the absence of revenues since March, the PCSO has been aggressive in contributing to the national government’s medical and humanitarian response to the pandemic.

For the month of August, the agency has released a total of PHP131,044,153 worth of medical assistance to some 18,300 beneficiaries for this month alone under its Medical Access Program (MAP) mostly on medical needs of indigent Filipino like hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines.

The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide.

Garma said amid the Covid-19 crisis, the agency continues to provide medical assistance to the indigents seeking help from PCSO. -PNA
