DAVAO CITY — Former President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday denied hands in the rumored destabilization plot against the current administration saying “I am comfortable with President Marcos,” and sees no reason to replace him.

Facing the Davao media for the first time after he stepped down from Malacañan in June 30, 2022, Duterte in a press conference said “I am fine with Marcos and why will I do something against this government. I once served this country and I am now enjoying my time with my grandchildren, what will I get?’

He denied reports that he is behind the plot for the his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte to take over governance.

The former president was calm as he claimed he does not see major blunders of Marcos and replacing him is nil.

On reports that he is connecting with retired army and police officials, Duterte quipped “I do not have contacts anymore since I retired. I do not bother to ask questions so what I see is what I get karong panahona (these time).”

He further said “It’s all in the mind. the they,? Why would I bother to tinker with these things? Why did I not do that when I was at the height of my presidency? For what purpose? To what? To place somebody else in place of Marcos? I am comfortable with Marcos.”
