VP Sara graces regional Festival of Talents in Misamis Occidental

DAVAO CITY — Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte personally witnesses the recently concluded Regional Festival of Talents which was held at The Working Congressman Sports & Cultural Center, Tudela, Misamis Occidental.

In her message, Duterte said she was happy to attend the opening of the first day of the 2024 Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) with the theme “Greatness, Talent and Talents of the Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng MATATAG na Adhika”.

The festival aims to provide opportunities for students from public and private elementary and secondary schools as well as those from the Alternative Learning System (ALS), Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED), Special Needs Education Program (SNEd), and Madrasah Education Program (MEP) to showcase their talents and abilities.

“This festival is not only to celebrate talent but also to be a testament of unity, friendship, and the limitless potential that lies within each student,” Duterte emphasized.

She commended the participants “As representatives of your respective divisions, you are champions in your own right. Your creativity and talents have great power to inspire change within your community. Keep shining, and keep your heart burning for change.”

The Vice President lauded the Division of Misamis Occidental for accepting the challenge as the host of this event, and the Department of Education-Region X for their continuous improvement of the excellence of our students.

Duterte was welcomed by Misamis Occidental DepEd officials and the province of Misamis Occidental led by Governor Henry S. Oaminal, along with 1st District Representative Jason P. Almonte, board members, and mayors.

“Para sa atoa taga Mindanao, you will fly, you will soar, you will fight and you will win!”, she quipped.
