Major General Luis Bergante Takes Command of EastMincom

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Major General Luis R. Bergante has assumed the role of Commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMincom), on June 10.

The EasteernMindanao Command is key military position overseeing operations in the region. His appointment comes as part of a broader leadership rotation within the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Bergante, who has had a distinguished career in the military, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His previous roles include significant command and staff positions, and he is known for his expertise in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.

As the new EastMincom commander, Bergante is expected to focus on enhancing security and stability in the Eastern Mindanao region, which has faced challenges related to insurgency and local conflicts.

His leadership will be pivotal in implementing strategies aimed at improving peace and order and supporting the development of the area.

In his new role, Bergante will work closely with local government units, civilian agencies, and other stakeholders to address regional issues and foster cooperation in efforts to maintain security and promote socio-economic progress.
