DAVAO CITY --- Rodrigo Duterte III, the grandson of former President Rodrigo Duterte and son of First District Congressman Paolo Duterte, has officially filed his candidacy with the Commission on Elections for a seat on the Davao City Council.
Rigo was joined by his father and his elder brother, Buhangin Barangay Captain Omar Duterte, during the filing of his certificate of candidacy.
If elected, Rigo would become the fourth member of Congressman Paolo Duterte's family to hold a political office.
Notably, Congressman Duterte's wife, January Duterte, previously served as Barangay Captain in Catalunan Grande and is currently a member of the Davao City Council, where she holds the position of President of the Liga ng mga Barangays.
