DAVAO CITY (May 11) – An abandoned shabu laboratory was discovered by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during the implementation of a search warrant at a house on Porsche Street, Village East Executive Homes, Barangay Munting Dilaw, Antipolo City, Rizal, around 8:55 PM on May 9, 2025.

The operation was conducted by the PDEA Special Enforcement Service in coordination with the PDEA Regional Office IV-A Rizal Provincial Office, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Units (PNP-DEUs) in Antipolo City.

Authorities recovered laboratory equipment and apparatus, chest freezers, drums, sacks containing liquid and powdery substances, and plastic sachets with traces of shabu.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez stated that the discovery of the abandoned laboratory was a result of previous operations conducted by PDEA and other law enforcement agencies.

“Though the shabu laboratory was found abandoned, its owners and operators have already been identified. It is only a matter of time before they are caught by the long arm of the law. They may have left the place in haste upon knowing that authorities are hot on their trails,” said Nerez.

The operation was carried out in response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to pursue and arrest high-value drug personalities and dismantle their sources.
