BOC Surigao surpasses target collection

DAVAO CITY (April 8) — The Bureau of Customs stationed in the port of Surigao received commendation for surpassing their target for the first wuarter of the year.

The personnel received their certificates of commendation from district collector Ugay on April 1, during the flag raising ceremony.

The Port of Surigao has collected a total of 5.316 million pesos, with a surplus of 2.999 million pesos or a positive deviation of 129.44% against the 2.362 million peso target for the month of March 2019. For the 1st Quarter of 2019, the Port has collected a total of P7,761,651.00 with a positive deviation of 29.86%.

For years, the Customs collection has been wanting, but the recent order of President Rodrigo Duterte to collect taxes due to government has helped and in many agencies, collection targets tremendously increased.

Almost all Customs port in Mindanao reflected high collections during the last two quarters.

Customs Commissioner Leonard Rey Guerrero is making rounds to boost the moral of his personnel as the agency’s way of appreciating the good work of his staff.-ezc/NewsLine.ph
