COTABATO – In an effort to bring essential medical and dental services closer to residents, the Cotabato Provincial Government conducted a medical and dental outreach program in Barangay Paradise, Banisilan, on October 4.

Approximately 450 residents benefited from the program, receiving free check-ups, dental care, and other medical services provided by the dedicated medical team led by the Integrated Provincial Health Office.

Out of the participants, 293 received comprehensive check-ups, 22 underwent dental extractions, and 27 children received free circumcision procedures.

Additionally, 10 malnourished children were identified through nutritional assessments and were given complementary food packs while being monitored by the IPHO. Furthermore, 98 children were provided with nutritious meals as part of the feeding program.

Malungon livestock auction

Meanwhile, the local government of Malungon, through the Municipal Economic Enterprise Development Office, initiated a livestock auction as part of its Livestock Auction Program at the New Malungon Business Center in Poblacion, Malungon, Sarangani Province.

The livestock auction takes place every Wednesday, from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, attracting both sellers and buyers from various neighboring areas like Tupi in South Cotabato, Bansalan, Digos in Davao del Sur, and General Santos City.

This week, over 40 pigs and 2 goats were brought to the auction, where prices were negotiated between sellers and buyers based on wholesale or “pakyaw” arrangements.

The local government encourages livestock farmers to participate by bringing their animals every Wednesday for the auction, creating opportunities for both sellers and buyers in the region.
