Cyber hackers taken over Philippine Coast Guard Facebook page

DAVAO CITY –— Unknown Cyber hackers took over the official Facebook page of the Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG)   at around 12:30 p.m. yesterday.

The hackers now control the page and post videos funny videos relative to law enforcement.

This is the fourth incident and the second during the year.

In a statement, Coast Guard Spokesperson CG Rear Admiral Armand Balilo said the Philippine Coast Guard  Public Affairs (CGPAS) monitored two “malicious short videos” posted on the page during the hacking.

“The CGPAS is now coordinating with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center under the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to conduct backend operations and assess the security breach,” the PCG said in a statement.

The latest cyber attack happened in February this year.

The attack happened while the Philippine Government and China are at loggerheads over the West Philippine Sea water cannon accidents.
