DAVAO CITY — A daycare teacher was severely injured when she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the national highway in front of Sto. Niño Church in Makilala town, North Cotabato, Thursday night.

Police identified the victim as Amparo Nioda, a resident of Purok Mahayahay in Poblacion Makilala.

It was drizzling at the time of the incident, and the highway was poorly lit with heavy traffic.

According to a live video from Ronda Teleradyo, blood was profusely oozing from Nioda’s head as she was carried by the Makilala Disaster Rescue Team to a nearby hospital.

The still unidentified driver of the pickup truck remained with the victim while they awaited the police.
