DAVAO CITY — Finally after years, the Department of Public Works and Highways allots P210-million for the repair and rehabilitation of the Panabo-Tadeco circumferential road in Davao del Norte.

The Tadeco road is one of the busiest road in Davao del Norte as it connects the Tagum Agricultural Development Corporation (TADECO) to the Panabo airport in exporting the banana from said province.

It also connects the municipalities of Sto. Tomas, Kapalong, Talaingod and Asuncion to Panabo City, where they can sell their produce.

Due to the bad road condition, the residents and motorist described the highway as the killer road, due to the numerous road accidents which claimed dozens of lives in during the past years.

“The office has allocated P210-million for the repair and rehabilitation of the road and the budget has been included in the 2023 National Expenditure Programs ( NEP) which will be under the General Appropriations Act of 2023,” according ti Dean Ortiz, the spokesperson of the DXWO regional office here.

Pending the release of the 2023 fund for the road, Ortiz explained “all we are doing now are palliative measures to allow our motorist to pass the road but they should also remember and always bear in mind the road rules and safety.”
