DSWD Davao Region distributes over P6.3 million in cash aid to over 2,300 beneficiaries

DAVAO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region XI has distributed over P 6.3 million in financial aid through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

From June 5 to 11, 2023, a total of 2,353 individuals in the Davao region have been recipients of vital support.

The disbursement of financial assistance began in Digos City, Davao del Sur, on June 5, 2023.

A sum of PHP 2.8 million was distributed among 933 beneficiaries, providing much-needed relief to those in dire circumstances. The outreach efforts continued in Asuncion, Davao Del Norte, on June 6, 2023, where 139 individuals received PHP 417,000, extending crucial aid during times of crisis.

On June 7, 2023, the City of Mati in Davao Oriental witnessed the distribution of PHP 891,000 among 297 beneficiaries, easing their financial burdens. The following day, an additional 137 individuals in Mati received PHP 478,000 in financial aid, further expanding assistance to those undergoing crisis situations.

In Kapalong, Davao del Norte, a total of 532 beneficiaries received PHP 1,099,500 at the Kapalong Gymnasium on June 9 and 10, 2023. The final outreach event took place in Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, where 315 individuals received PHP 655,000 on June 10 and 11, 2023. These endeavors underscore the unwavering commitment of DSWD Region XI in providing prompt relief to individuals confronted with crises.

Through the AICS program, the DSWD Region XI disbursed a total of PHP 6,340,500, extending essential support to 2,353 individuals in dire need. These initiatives demonstrate the government’s steadfast dedication to aiding and uplifting the lives of those impacted by crises in the Davao region. (DSWD XI)
