DAVAO CITY —– Officials from the Island Garden City of Samal led by Mayor Al David Uy travelled to Nabunturan Davao de Oro to turnover their assistance for the victims of the February 6, Masara landslide which claimed 98 lives, 8 still missing and thousands displaced.

Uy handed the Php 500,000 in financial aid during their courtesy visit to Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga in the presence of Provincial Administrator Lewis Jake Caiman.

During the simple ceremony, Uy said “We belong to one region, we always have each other, when we were challenged other LGU’s shared their resources, we all stand together as one region, we are always ready to help and to share.”

The Samal chief executive also admired the leadership of Governor Gonzaga and other leaders of the Davao region for standing together and helping each other from the challenges brought by the Shearline, Trough of the Low-Pressure Area and the series of earthquakes that struck the region earlier this year

“One thing I witnessed with Gov Dot-dot is that never in her vocabulary she utters the word surrender,” he added.

Uy was accompanied by LGU IGACOS personnel and officials together with PNP-IGACOS who also provided used clothes for the affected people.
