MALUNGON, SARANGANI – Thousands of Indigenous People here, majority came from the tribe of B’laan and Tagakaulo were elated on proposed creation of a Kasfala Hall pushed by Sarangani Congressman Ruel D. Pacquiao as he announced it during the culmination of the week-long 12th Slang Festival in the town last week.

Pacquiao said that the Kafala Hall will be used as primary venue for the holding of gift exchanges and settlement of disputes. This must be put right in place of the municipal hall compound or adjacent to it for the tribal people to have the nearer venue and comfortable approach. “This will be a locus for the tribal council and elders to hold their meetings, specifically in formulating and carrying out of the various policies, projects and activities that are designed for the furtherance of the IPs,” Pacquiao in a mixed dialect, said.

In addition, the Congressman has also committed to suffice the over P15-billion worth of completed and still ongoing project works which are mostly infrastructures for concreting and construction of roads, school buildings and barangay halls since he assumed office as representative of the lone district of Sarangani Province.

“I think that there is that ardent need in fortifying our educational program. That is why as of today, with the aid of Senator Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Pacquiao, (the latter’s elder brother) and the Provincial Government we reaffirm such commitment to support the education needs of our constituents,” Rep. Pacquiao said.

He elaborated as saying that they have about 2, 000 scholar students in Sarangani, in addition to the other 6, 000 students since the past three years. All the scholars were provided with their needs and eventually completed their schooling up to college.

Town Mayor Tessa D. Constantino said Pacquiao’s thrust for the fortification of the education support program is one of the important intervention programs of their town.
