Kidapawan cop accidentally kills niece

KIDAPAWAN – A police officer is currently under investigation at the Kidapawan City PNP office after firing his gun at 7:15 this evening in Purok Malungay, Sitio Mateo, Barangay Birada, Kidapawan City.

According to the initial report from the Kidapawan City PNP, Police Corporal Roy, 36 years old and single, assigned to Magpet MPS, was drinking with relatives when he got into an argument with a female neighbor.

During the altercation, the officer fired his gun twice, unexpectedly hitting his 13-year-old niece, known as Alyas Zel.

The victim was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead by the attending doctor.

The PNP SWAT team quickly arrived at the crime scene to apprehend the officer, who surrendered promptly.
