DAVAO CITY – A still unidentified assailant shot a lawyer and her husband infront of their house at Solariega Subd, Brgy Talomo, Davao City, around 5:10 pm of July 14, 2021.

Davao City Police spokesperson Capt. Rose Aguilar identified the victims as Muhaimen Mohammad Sapie and Atty. Hilda Mahinay Sapie.

Aguilar said the victims just came out from their residence after their radio program and was shot by unidentified suspect in front of their house.

Victims were brought to Southern Philippine Medical Center but were declared dead upon arrival.

Davao City Police Director Col. Kirby John Craft and Talomo police precinct chief Col. Sean Logronio immediately proceeded to the area and started to investigate the case.

Sometime in July 2019, police filed charges charges against Atty. Sapie after she was arrested with several firearms during a raid at her residence in Solariega Plantacion in Talomo.

Then, Police Regional Office (PRO)-11 chief Brig. Gen. Marcelo Morales said the authorities filed charges against Sapie for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013.

Morales said Sapie was the subject of the search warrant issued by a regional court that was implemented by the Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Mobile Force Battalion in coordination with Talomo Police Station.

Operatives searched the house of Sapie including her vehicles — a black Mazda pick-up with LAB 9287 license plate numbers and black Toyota Fortuner with A7H023 conduction stickers.

Operatives recovered during the operation one unit of Beretta 9mm.
