LPA spotted east of General Santos to bring rain over parts of Visayas and Mindanao

MANILA (October 26) — A low pressure area (LPA) was located about 210 kilometers east of General Santos City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported in its 4 a.m. bulletin on Sunday.

The weather disturbance, embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Albay, Masbate, and Sorsogon. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains are also expected over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the shear line, and over Aurora and Quezon because of the easterlies.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also influenced by the easterlies.

Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough seas will prevail over the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
