PASAY CITY – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. concluded his participation in the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) in San Francisco, California, and subsequent Working Visits to Los Angeles, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii.
In his arrival statement at the Villamor Air Base, President Marcos Jr. highlighted the outcomes of his engagement in the APEC Summit, emphasizing the importance of regional collaboration in energy, healthcare, digitalization, and climate change mitigation.
During his U.S. Working Visits, President Marcos Jr. engaged in significant meetings to strengthen the Philippines’ relations with the United States of America (USA), addressing common challenges in economic and national security domains.
Beyond official duties, the President connected with Filipino communities in the U.S., expressing gratitude and encouraging continued support for nation-building initiatives.
A notable moment during the U.S. visit was President Marcos Jr.’s address at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) in Hawaii, where he reflected on critical challenges facing the Philippines and the region, highlighting shared aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous future.
President Marcos Jr. also emphasized the Philippines’ commitment to recovery efforts by presenting a donation to the State of Hawaii for the rehabilitation of towns affected by wildfires in Maui in August 2023.
Expressing optimism, President Marcos Jr. underscored the enduring alliance between the Philippines and the U.S., a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy for decades.
