Mass Wedding Ceremony Unites 27 Couples in Kapalong, Davao del Norte

DAVAO DEL NORTE – In a heartwarming event, 27 couples from the indigenous tribe of Sitio Mangkay, Barangay Gupitan, formalized their unions in a collective wedding officiated by Kapalong Mayor Maria Theresa Timbol.

The grand ceremony, held on Wednesday, November 29, at the town’s communal venue, was a celebration of love and unity among the tribal community.

The wedding festivities were marked by joy and love, with various elements adding to the charm of the occasion. The couples received complimentary wedding rings, bouquets, wine, cake, and assorted gifts, all provided free of charge.

In a gesture of support, the government also extended cash gifts to the newlyweds, further enhancing the significance of the event for the couples and their families.

Mayor Timbol, along with other local government officials, played a crucial role in sponsoring the mass wedding, underlining their commitment to fostering community bonds and supporting significant life events.

The people of Sitio Mangkay expressed their profound gratitude for the well-organized program initiated by the LGU-Kapalong, acknowledging the efforts made by Mayor Timbol and her team to make the collective wedding a memorable and meaningful experience for all.
