Mati City deploys police bike patrollers

DAVAO CITY – The city government of Mati strengthens its police visibility program as it launched Mati City Police Station (CPS) Bike Patrollers on Monday.

In a report published by the Philippine News Agency, Mati City Information Officer Ben Jason Tesiorna, revealed they organized and deployed eight (8) members of the Philippine National Police as Bike Patrollers.

The focus of the Bike Patrollers is to ensure that residents and tourism related establishments are secured

“For now, eight were deployed yet. Expect that more will be augmented,” Tesiorna stressed. The bikes were donated by the city government

The bikes were turned over during the launch, which was witnessed by the Mati PNP along with the Davao Oriental Provincial Police Office and the city government officials and Mati City Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat.

“They will be assigned as tourist police,” Tesiorna said.

He said the bike patrollers will be responsible for the expeditious investigating of crimes against tourists and providing information about the local community and ensuring their safety and security.-with PNA report
