Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua is Miss Universe 2023

DAVAO CITY Sheynnis Palacios Cornejo of Nicaragua has been crowned Miss Universe 2023 in the recently concluded 72th Miss Universe pageant held aat the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in the Capital of San Salvador, El Salvador.

A day before the pageant night, Sheynnis posted on her Facebook page:

“We arrived at the day most awaited for my inner child and now it’s a dream accompanied by more than 6 million Nicaraguans

Tonight I dedicate it to my inner girl and to each of the girls who yearn to fulfill this dream, even the sky itself is the limit, dream so big that people think it is impossible to achieve, because that is where you know that your dreams and goals will exceed obstacles, and remember to accompany them with determination, perseverance and passion ?✨

My beautiful homeland, thank you for allowing me to be an ambassador of your culture, of your landscapes, of our identity and colonial beauty, my Nicaragua will be an honor to scream one more night your name and show the universe that the homeland may be small but we are full of big dreams ??✨

Miss Nicaragua topped the 83 other delegates from all over the world to inherit the title from last year’s winner, Filipino-American sustainable fashion designer and advocate R’Bonney Gabriel.

This year’s competition was joined by wo transgender European women , Rikkie Valerie Kolle from the Netherlands, and Marina Machete from Portugal who became the first trans woman to enter the semifinals.
