Motorcyle-riding gunmen killed lady lawyer in Davao Norte

DAVAO CITY (September 25) — Unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen killed a  lady lawyer in Gabayan 2, Brgy Mankilam, Tagum City,  past 8:00 in the morning,  Monday,  September 24.

Police Regional Office (PRO) XI spokesperson Chief Insp Milgrace Driz, identified the victim as Connie Del Rio Villamor, married and a resident of Purok Pag-asa, Barangay Visayan village in Tagum.

Initial police  investigation revealed, Villamor was driving her  black Subaru forester and was traversing the vicinity of Gabayan 2 near Manga Elementary School when the assailants onboard two motorbikes attacked her.

The car swerved when she was shot and hit a concrete fence.

Villamor, 39, worked as community relations chief for Apex Mining Corporation based in Compostela Valley Province.

She also  owned several businesses in Tagum  City and Maco town in Compostela Valley.

The Davao del Norte PNP has created a  special investigation task group (SITG)  to investigate Monday’s fatal shooting.

Driz said “We’re looking at personal grudge or work-related [issue] as some of the possible motives into the attack, or other motives that may arise depending on the evidence gathered.”

She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Davao Regional Medical Center due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) found two fired cartridges from a .45 caliber pistol in the area.
