DAVAO CITY — The provincial government of North Cotabato will construct a town hospital in Banisilan.

The community hospital is set to rise in a one-hectare property owned and donated by Mr. Melecio Calve in Barangay Wadya, Banisilan.

The proposed facility is the second community hospital established by the provincial government after Cotabato Provincial Hospital and the district hospitals in Antipas, Alamada, Mlang, Pres. Roxas, Tulunan, Midsayap and Aleosan towns.

Governor Nancy Catamco said Banisilan is two hours ride from Kidapawan City, most of the patients there are transported to a hospital in Wao, Lanao del Sur, or, in Bukinon.

Catamco said the provincial government allocated P50-million for the construction of a level 1 hospital in said town, this is over and above the P30-million fund committed by Senator Miguel Zubiri who rose from the Province of Bukidnon.

The proposed community hospital will have a 50-bed capacity and will be equipped with X-ray and laboratory, operating and delivery room complex with an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) room.
